Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Employee Development and in conjunction with Office of Employee Development (OED) colleagues, the Assistant Director supports strategy and programs that facilitate the continuous learning and professional development of a highly -qualified workforce. Partners with a broad range of administration and work groups to help them attain business goals and objectives in alignment with the University’s mission and strategic plan. Primary event management oversight of programs and services by OED.
Duties and Responsibilities Serves as a liaison with a range of administration and staff across the University, including Event Management, Catering, and Media Services, relating to the delivery of departmental services Coordinates and develops year-long calendar, agendas, speaker communications and materials to support primary departmental programs (MDP and ILDP) Works closely with team members and colleagues planning, executing, monitoring and assessing projects. Supports preparation and delivery of professional development content in open enrollment and custom settings Supports team development work by conducting needs assessments and analyses. Supports high-level programming through data collection and analysis Oversight and management of departmental budget (OED & MDP) to ensure that all programming and services are adequately supported Communicate with senior leadership and program presenters to administer high-level programming Develop, create, and oversee marketing materials to support all departmental programming. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises student employees Conducts research on best practices in the development and implementation of intervention strategies, including e-learning methodologies relevant to organizational needs and University priorities. Supports organizational improvement initiatives in collaboration with Compensation and Employment.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $67,350 to $84,200; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree preferred in the areas of organizational development, human resources, or a related field. Two to five years of experience in organization development, training, or relevant experience required. Organization Development experience in higher education is preferred. Strong presentation, interpersonal and communication (oral and written), facilitation, analytic skills, and customer service skills required. Experience in working with broad range of employees Familiarity with organizational and individual assessment methodology and tools including interpretation, debriefings, and reporting. Openness to and willingness to support the University’s mission and values. Ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team. Attention to detail and comfort with the regular performance of administrative support tasks.

Faculty members maintain active programs of research and publication in distributed algorithms and systems, natural language processing, data mining, and the theory of computation, with additional faculty expertise in programming languages, computer engineering, and social and ethical issues in computing.
We offer academic programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science, as well as a minor in Computer Science, and an assortment of introductory-level and Core courses for non-specialists. Our advanced students have the opportunity to carry out independent study and to collaborate with faculty on research projects.
