The Social Worker provides therapeutic services and mental health support to students to reduce barriers to learning. Responsibilities include case management, crisis intervention, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Social Work and be licensed with the Tennessee Board of Social Workers (LMSW and LSSW). A minimum of two years of experience as a professional or school social worker is required.
Description
In partnership with Gestalt Community Schools, the Social Worker actively supports school leadership teams, support staff, and school staff to provide therapeutic services to individual scholars and scholar groups to assist in reducing social, emotional, and behavioral barriers that impede learning. The Social Worker is responsible for implementing educational programs; assessing problems and determining appropriate types and methods of treatment; implementing intervention methodologies; establishing processes to support mental health in an educational setting (i.e. supporting T1, T2, and T3); development and implementation of various protocols and systems to ensure social and emotional development; in addition to functioning in such areas as counseling, protective services, and family services.
