This is a rare opportunity to design your job description and your schedule. We’re hiring a Cardiology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Part-Time /Contract for Inpatient Consults Across El Paso or a Full-Time Hybrid Role including Inpatients/Outpatients/Research. Broaden your clinical experience, work closely with an experienced cardiologist, and participate in clinical research, while caring for patients with acute cardiovascular conditions.
You’ll have the flexibility to build your own schedule while earning competitive pay and access to health benefits. This role offers the opportunity to expand your cardiology expertise, gain valuable experience in an acute-care setting, and contribute to clinical research initiatives.
Requirements
· Provide inpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care across El Paso-area hospitals.
· Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and complex cardiovascular conditions.
· Provide pre-surgical clearances
· Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising cardiologist.
· Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing, electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, and cardiac imaging.
· Manage cardiovascular medications and monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
· Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing teams, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
· Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
· Complete timely and accurate documentation within each hospital’s electronic medical record system.
· Support discharge planning, follow-up coordination, and transitions of care.
· Participate in clinical research activities, including identifying potential participants and supporting study-related clinical procedures.
· Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements.
· Participate in rotating call, weekend, or holiday coverage as agreed upon.
