Full job description
ABOUT ZENOBE
Our mission is to make clean power accessible. We are passionate about making a positive impact on communities and the environment where we work.
We’re designing, financing, building and operating the world’s most sophisticated battery systems to enable the take up of more renewable power, electrifying fleets for cleaner air, and providing clean, portable power including repurposed electric vehicle batteries. Our proprietary software and data analysis optimises operational performance for our customers to reduce emissions and costs.
Since we began in 2017, we’ve raised over £2.7 billion in debt and equity funding and transformed it into >1.2GW of grid-connected batteries live or under contract and c.3,400 electric vehicles supported. We have operations in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the US and Canada, with a global headquarters in London.
We’re the leading owner and operator of battery storage in the UK, supporting the National Grid with the uptake of renewable power. We also work with c.90% of the UK's major bus companies, powering 25% of the UK e-bus market. We’re also the number one owner and operator of e-buses in Australia and New Zealand, and are quickly expanding into light commercial vehicles and trucks. Our rapidly growing company is looking for highly talented and motivated people to join us.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting opportunity and a great time to join the Portable Power team of a well-established business that is experiencing strong year-on-year growth. Zenobē’s Portable Power business supports customers with mobile battery and temporary power solutions that help reduce emissions, improve site efficiency and lower cost across a range of UK applications, including tower cranes on construction sites, festival main stages, temporary EV charging and mobile medical scanners.
We do not expect you to be a sector expert from day one. A basic understanding of energy storage, temporary power, and the commercial drivers within construction or industrial applications would be beneficial, but most important is your enthusiasm to learn, your ability to work collaboratively, and your confidence communicating with colleagues and clients. You will report into a Senior Business Development team member, receive the training and support you need, and work closely with our in-house operations, engineering and analytics teams to help shape strong customer propositions.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
Contributing to our business development growth strategy and pipeline of opportunities across the UK temporary power market.
Working on the identification of new use cases and commercial opportunities for mobile battery solutions across existing and emerging industries.
Engaging with existing clients and target sectors to help develop relationships and generate new business opportunities.
Driving the development of technical and commercial customer proposals and bids, working closely with internal teams to ensure our propositions are practical, competitive and aligned to customer needs.
Supporting customer accounts and relationship building, including client pitches, meetings and site visits.
Developing and maintaining CRM processes and account information to support future growth and improve day-to-day commercial operations.
Enabling energy reporting and analysis in relation to temporary power projects, helping translate operational insight into clear value for customers.
Building an understanding of our commercial structures and financial approach so that this can inform how we position opportunities and shape sales strategy.
Facilitating internal investment and strategy discussions by feeding back clear market insight from client conversations, industry activity and emerging opportunities.
Working cross-functionally with operations, engineering and analytics teams to ensure customer needs are clearly understood and effectively supported
Executing the closure of deals including contract execution and handover to finance function

Above all, Zenobē is looking for collaborative, flexible, empathetic people who are interested in creating and promoting practical routes to a zero carbon world.
Highly motivated and engaging, with a willingness to work as part of a team and strong communication and coordination skills.
2+ years demonstrable experience in industry closing deals and contracts
A genuine passion for the clean energy sector and a commercially minded approach to problem-solving.
An interest in temporary power and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities within construction and industrial applications.
University degree, ideally in a STEM, commercial or similarly analytical discipline.
Strong organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
Confident in client-facing situations and comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
