Participate and assist in capability studies with Test Equipment Engineers and Product Engineers, when related to the calibration of the test equipment. Assist with hydraulic calibrations or repairs when electronic test equipment is involved.
Vendor Calibration: Vendor interaction and processing of M&TE calibrations including: 1) review of vendor certifications, 2) processing of equipment returned from the vendor for calibration and/or repair and 3) processing and implementation of any newly purchased equipment, 4) support on-site vendor calibrations, 5) ensure the maintenance of laboratory standards and coordinate the calibration with contracted calibration services. The incumbent will also help to resolve technical issues with vendors and /or contracted services or escalate, when necessary.
Training: Undertake appropriate training in conjunction with equipment changes and/or improvements in technology and methods in order to stay abreast of the latest technological advances within the field.
Procedures: Provide recommendations for updating existing calibration test procedures and data sheets. This may include working directly with a Calibration Engineer and/or Senior Level Technician to complete an initial calibration or after an upgrade to establish acceptable standards and methods to be followed in subsequent calibrations.
Records: Ensure the maintenance of calibration records and traceability to the National Bureau of Standards as well as compliance to applicable Military Standards and specifications.
