Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Must have 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising or external affairs with a track record of securing six- to seven-figure gifts.
The Vice President, Development leads enterprise fundraising strategy, driving philanthropic growth aligned with organizational priorities. This role oversees major gifts, planned giving, and grateful patient programs while personally managing a portfolio of principal and major donors.
This is a pivotal leadership opportunity during a period of meaningful transformation for the Development function. Community Health System is investing in a refreshed, forward-looking vision for philanthropy—strengthening internal capabilities, expanding community engagement, and building a more integrated, impact-driven fundraising model.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the VP partners with senior leadership, physicians, and board members to advance high-impact philanthropic initiatives that support clinical excellence, innovation, and community health.
