The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct care, supervision, and support to patients in an acute care setting, including assisting with daily living activities and monitoring patient well-being. They are responsible for maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment, documenting patient behaviors, and participating in multi-disciplinary team rounds.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. and at least one year of experience in a behavioral health setting. A valid driver's license and Basic Life Support, CPR, and First Aid certifications are required within 30 days of hire.
Behavioral Health Technician
Employees working at locations operating 24/7 earn a differential. Shift differentials are also available for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
The salary range for this position is SummitStone’s good faith belief and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this position at the time of the posting. Role Overview:
Responsible for providing direct care, supervision, and support to patients in our acute care units. Assist with daily activities including meals, personal hygiene, and engagement in clinical activities. Help to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment while monitoring patient well-being alongside medical and clinical teams, which includes patient de-escalation when necessary. Observe and document patient behaviors, assisting with admissions and discharges, and completing regular safety checks. Participate in patient rounds as part of multi-disciplinary team and documenting regularly in patient charts. Help maintain overall safety of the milieu, responding to emergency codes, and escorting patients to treatment and other areas of the facility as needed.
