Position Details
Position: Part-Time Assistant Teacher
Location: Northampton Community College Child Care Center & Early Childhood Education Lab School – Bethlehem, PA (Reibman Hall Children’s Center)
Schedule: Monday–Friday with flexible split-shift opportunities available: 6:30 AM – 12:30 PM or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Pay Rate: $15.00–$19.00 per hour based on education and experience
What You’ll Do
As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for young children.
Responsibilities include:
· Assisting with daily classroom routines and activities
· Supporting children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
· Maintaining active supervision and ensuring children’s safety
· Building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
· Helping prepare classroom materials and learning centers
· Maintaining cleanliness and organization of classroom spaces
· Collaborating professionally with teaching teams and administration
· Participating in trainings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
Required
· High school diploma or GED
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
· Experience working with children preferred
Preferred
· CDA, ECE coursework, or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
· Experience in a NAEYC Accreditation Plus or Keystone STARS program
