Join Our Team!

Access Community Care is seeking a compassionate, flexible, and motivated Job Coach Rover to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving meaningful, competitive employment within their communities.

This is a dynamic position ideal for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable providing both Job Coaching and Job Development services based on participant and program needs. No two days are the same! You may spend your day coaching participants at their workplace, building relationships with local employers, assisting with interviews, completing documentation in the office, or supporting coverage needs throughout our service area.

If you are adaptable, enjoy problem-solving, and are passionate about helping others achieve independence through employment, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

Job Coaching

  • Develop trusting, person-centered relationships with participants.
  • Provide individualized job coaching to help participants learn and maintain competitive employment.
  • Implement employment goals outlined in Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Teach job tasks using coaching techniques, task analysis, and workplace accommodations when appropriate.
  • Promote participant independence while fostering natural supports in the workplace.
  • Ensure participant health, safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist participants with transportation planning and travel training when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with employers to support successful workplace integration and long-term employment success.

Rover Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage wherever needed within the Employment Services department.
  • Flex between Job Coaching and Job Development responsibilities based on participant and operational needs.
  • Travel throughout the Portland Metro area to participant worksites, employers, and agency locations.
  • Report to the office for required meetings, training, documentation, administrative work, and when participant schedules change or coverage is needed.
  • Assist with staffing coverage during periods of increased service demand.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete progress notes, billing documentation, employer contacts, and service records by the end of each workday whenever possible.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with Medicaid, Vocational Rehabilitation, ODDS requirements, agency policies, and Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR).
  • Maintain familiarity with participant goals, support needs, risk plans, and safety protocols.
  • Complete all required trainings and maintain required certifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, vocational rehabilitation, human services, education, social services, or related fields preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable adapting to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk, stand, sit, bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout the workday.
  • Lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Travel frequently between participant worksites, employers, and agency locations.
  • Work in a variety of community-based employment settings.

Why Join Access Community Care?

At Access Community Care, we believe meaningful employment changes lives. We are committed to providing person-centered services that empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve greater independence, confidence, and inclusion in their communities.

If you're looking for a rewarding career where you can make a lasting impact while enjoying a flexible and engaging work environment, we'd love to meet you!
