The Teaching Assistant is responsible for scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties. This includes preparing seminar materials, grading, proctoring exams, and providing student consultation.
Candidates must hold an Honours BA or BSc in Psychology and have successfully completed course EDUC 4P46. Experience with populations facing mental health challenges and knowledge of wellness interventions are required.

Mental Health and Wellness
Compensation
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Duties
The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.
Qualifications
1. Honours BA or Honours BSc in Psychology
2. Experience working with populations who have mental health challenges
3. Knowledge of prevention strategies and interventions designed to promote mental health and wellness.
4. Theoretical knowledge of various approaches to mental health and wellness
5. Successfully completed EDUC 4P46
