YOUR TASKS

• You will devote at least 70% of your time to scientific research within the field of Tumor Immunology and Cell Death.
• You will contribute to teaching at Master’s level within the field of cancer.
• You will supervise Master’s students in practical sessions, microteaching, major placements and Master’s theses within your area of research expertise.
• You will supervise PhD students within the Cell Death Investigation and Therapy (CDIT) research group.
• You will be responsible for coordinating the Cell Death Investigation and Therapy (CDIT) research laboratory.
• You will manage ongoing research projects within Cell Death Investigation and Therapy (CDIT), including financial monitoring, and take the initiative to apply for external research funding for new projects.
• You will provide teaching and research support to the Experimental Cancer Research group where necessary.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You hold a doctoral degree ((preferably) Medicine and Health Science, Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related field). The degree requirement needs to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
• You have already conducted research within the field of Tumor Immunology and Cell Death
• You have research experience in preclinical photodynamic therapy for cancer and anticancer vaccines
• Deep knowledge of cancer (immunogenic) cell death, demonstrated through publications in A1/Q1 journals.
• You are profoundly interested in coaching students in the Bachelor’s, Master’s and/or Advanced Master’s programs. Previous experience is desirable.
• You may present relevant scientific publications in (inter)national peer-reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

• We offer you a temporary appointment for a period of 2 years. The appointment cannot be renewed.
• Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to 3 years, you can apply. The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term
• Your appointment will start on 1 September 2026 at the earliest
• Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP5. More information about our salary scales
