Responsibilities
Perform physical logistics tasks including receiving, unpacking, staging, and shipping server-related equipment. Manage inventory, supervise rack deliveries, and implement improvements for site safety and efficiency.
Requirements
Requires business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English and the ability to perform physically demanding work. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for experience in logistics or manufacturing.

The Data Center Logistics team in Microsoft Japan is looking for a Datacenter Inventory and Asset Technician (DIAT) who can work collaboratively within a team to provide the best in class service to our customers.
As a DIAT, you will perform on-site operations with safety as your top priority, ensuring our Microsoft data centers can provide cloud services without interruption. We are seeking candidates who value teamwork, take on challenges with a positive mindset, think proactively about their own growth, and have the willingness to improve their site every day in a multicultural environment.
There are multiple data centers located throughout the Kansai region. Successful applicants may be asked to be permanently or temporarily based in one of the following areas, Eastern area, (southern Kyoto/ northern Nara – A short bus ride from GAKKEN-NARA-TOMIGAOKA Station 学研奈良登美ヶ丘駅), Minō, or in Central Osaka. Business needs may determine that moving between these locations in the Kansai region be required. Some flexibility in adjusting site assignments will be expected.
Able to perform multiple hours of standing work and physical labor.
Able to flexibly dispatch to multiple data centers across the region.
Excellent communication skills and teamwork.
High school graduation or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in logistics, warehouse, and/or the manufacturing industry.
Experience implementing continual service improvement initiatives.
Customer-focused mindset and action.
Work Style
Weekdays excluding Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and year-end and New Year holidays.
9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
*Both of the above are subject to change depending on project and business needs.
Local support for multiple data centers located within the Kansai region.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
