Full job description
About us: Be part of Dyson’s Innovation Journey
At Dyson, we challenge convention, break boundaries, and engineer products that redefine industries. Our relentless focus on solving real-world problems drives us to develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver exceptional performance, quality, and reliability.
As a Test Engineer in the System Solution Team (SST), you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless integration between software and electronics hardware in Dyson’s next-generation products. Our team is responsible for validating every software release against the latest hardware platforms, ensuring that product features perform reliably and meet the highest standards of functionality and robustness.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-performance systems, where you will leverage advanced testing methodologies, automation, and data-driven analysis to ensure product quality. You will gain hands-on experience in evaluating real product behavior, identifying issues, and contributing directly to the delivery of innovative, consumer-ready technologies.
Join us and be part of a team that ensures Dyson’s innovations are not only groundbreaking—but also dependable, seamless, and ready for the real world.
About the role
As a Test Engineer in the System Solution Team, you will be contributing to the validation of Dyson’s next-generation products, ensuring seamless integration between software and electronic hardware. You will be working closely with experienced engineers to support the development and execution of test strategies that validate product features, performance, and robustness across different system configurations.
In this role, you will be building your technical capabilities by supporting the development of automated test solutions using tools such as LabVIEW, TestStand, National Instruments DAQ, and Python. You will be involved in running both manual and automated tests, collecting and analyzing data, and using insights from real system behavior to help identify issues, improve product quality, and enhance testing efficiency.
You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams including electronics, firmware, and product engineering to understand requirements and ensure they are effectively translated into testable solutions. Through this exposure, you will gain a strong understanding of system-level validation and how different components interact within a complex product environment.
As part of Dyson’s culture of innovation, you will also be encouraged to explore new tools, technologies, and testing approaches. You will continuously be learning, experimenting, and contributing ideas that help improve testing methodologies and ensure Dyson products deliver reliable, high-performance experiences to our customers.
Embark on a transformative journey with our two-year Graduate programme designed for your career success. Our unique experiential journey provides a framework so you can reach your full potential with leadership talks, development workshops and more, all whilst surrounded by industry leading experts. Dyson continues to expand into new areas.
Today, Dyson sells products in more than 80 markets, has 450 Dyson stores worldwide and is available in all major technology and beauty retailers. Its global team of engineers, scientists and software developers are focused on developing technology-enabled products which work better and which people love to use. Key areas of focus have included high-speed electric digital motors, sensing and vision systems, robotics, machine learning and aerodynamics.
Beyond products, to encourage an inventive future, Dyson is also inspiring the next generation of engineers and inventors through the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology, the James Dyson Foundation and the James Dyson Award.
The Dyson family applies its problem-solving approach in other fields, and established Dyson Farming in 2012. It is one of the largest farming businesses in the UK, extending to 36,000 acres across Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Somerset. It is a family-owned enterprise unlike any other, focussed on long-term investment in British farming and the countryside to grow tasty and nutritious food.
