Norfolk Hardware and Home Center has been serving the Boston area since 1934. We began as a small hardware store and home center located on Norfolk Street in Mattapan. Founded by Ben and Lena Rosen, the store was named after Norfolk Street and began by selling plumbing supplies. As their customers requested additional products, the store expanded to carry paint, then window treatments, then building materials. Today we are a lot larger than we were in 1934. Norfolk Hardware currently occupies a building in Boston with over 40,000 square feet of retail, showroom and warehouse space. This large size right in Boston gives us the ability to have millions of dollars of inventory in stock at all times. Today, Norfolk Hardware is part of the Norfolk Companies, and owned by the same family, and has over 150 employees. We have tens of thousands of customers ranging from retail homeowners, to commercial contractors, housing authorities and property management companies. Norfolk Hardware began to sell kitchen cabinets in the early 1980s. That new product category proved to be a very important step in our company’s growth. Kitchen cabinets and countertops became a large part of our sales and today we have 5 Norfolk Kitchen and Bath showrooms located in Boston, Braintree, Nashua NH, Manchester NH, and Salem NH. We also have our own countertop shop that supplies many of the projects we sell. Combined with Norfolk Hardware and Home Center, our company employs over 150 local, hardworking people and does business all over New England, reaching all over the East Coast.
