Position: Facilities Specialist 1

Department: Facilities

Job Summary:

Performs general work related to construction, maintenance, and repair of the Gaming

Enterprise Division’s (GED) buildings and facilities. This is the first in a series of three (3)

classifications. Incumbents are supervised closely and generally do not make independent

decisions or judgments.

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

1. Performs routine maintenance activities under supervision.
2. Performs remodeling jobs including work on interior walls, cabinets, table games, and minor job work orders.
3. Secures work areas until repairs can be made, when necessary.
4. Performs tasks in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and codes.
5. Works with other team members to complete assigned tasks, as necessary.
6. Operates hand and power tools in a safe, efficient manner to accomplish assigned duties.
7. Performs mathematical calculations and reads blueprints to fulfill duties, when necessary.
8. Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
9. Lifts and carries ladders; pushes and pulls scaffolds to complete job tasks, when required.
10. Responds to team member and guest inquiries and complaints and provides courteous and cordial service.
11. Responds to after-hours emergency calls, as needed.
12. Performs all functions in accordance with departmental and the GED’s policies and procedures.
13. Attends scheduled on- and off-site training for skills advancement.
14. Completes requests and services promptly and in the allotted time.
15. Maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
16. Follows instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies; uses as directed.
17. Supports and enforces departmental as well as the GED’s policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory policies, such as completion of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
18. Turns in found articles in accordance with Facilities and GED policies and procedures.
19. Attends periodic departmental and GED meetings; attends professional and personal development training programs.
20. Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell to guests using a guest’s name, when possible, and making good eye contact.
21. Provides attentive, courteous, and professional service to all guests and team members, striving to always exceed their expectations.
22. Answers questions about general property information and amenities.
23. Displays a diplomatic, polished, and professional demeanor in the workplace.
24. Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.
25. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential functions of the position:

1. Ability to work indoor and outdoor environment and walk on uneven surfaces.
2. Ability to Travel/Work at any Casino Del Sol properties.
3. Cleans up around buildings, garages, parking lots, trash dumpsters, etc.
4. Constantly/Must have bending mobility to stand, walk for extended periods of time; stoop, kneel, twist, grip, crouch, or crawl, and work in cramped or confined spaces.
5. Demolishes, frames, hangs drywall/tapes/muds/finishes, plumbs, and repairs acoustical tiles.
6. Exposure to chemical/fumes, cleaning agents.
7. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
8. Maintains and repairs related equipment.
9. Monitors inventory and supply levels; procures and inventories supplies, equipment, and materials as necessary or directed.
10. Must be able to independently push, pull, and turn a tool car (maximum weight up to 300 pounds) and wear fitted tool belt (maximum weight up to 20 pounds), with or without a reasonable accommodation.
11. Must be able to move heavy objects (50 pounds or more) long distances (more than 20 feet), with or without a reasonable accommodation.
12. Patches and paints walls.
13. Performs skilled maintenance and carpentry tasks which, depending on area of assignment, may include; installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment; performing journey-level repairs.
14. Prepares and monitors logs and operational records.
15. Performs building inspections to ensure project and operational compliance with internal and external safety regulations.
16. Repairs and maintains non-mechanical/electrical structures which includes: replacing parts; repairing fixtures; and/or performing related duties.
17. Required to use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
18. Requires 24-hour response availability seven days per week for emergency situations.
19. Sets up/tears down for events.
20. Performs other duties as assigned.

16. Ability to make decisions based on information received from team members or guests.
17. Ability to distinguish between the full range of colors in the color spectrum to work with electrical wires.
18. Ability to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
19. Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders to reach work areas as well as push and pull scaffolds when required to complete the job task.
20. Ability to work at heights greater than ten feet.
21. Ability to remain in a standing position for extended periods of time.
22. Ability to lift arms above shoulder level to work in ceiling areas or on light fixtures.
23. Ability to work in small, cramped areas such as ceiling crawl spaces, equipment enclosures, closets, etc.
24. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
25. Ability to travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Three (3) years’ experience in building maintenance, commercial building trade, or facilities/maintenance engineering OR any combination of education and experience approved.
2. Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
3. Must be able to independently push, pull, and turn a tool car (maximum weight up to 300 pounds) and wear fitted tool belt (maximum weight up to 20 pounds), with or without a reasonable accommodation.
4. Must be able to move heavy objects (50 pounds or more) long distances (more than 20 feet), with or without a reasonable accommodation.
5. Demonstrated track record of reliability, responsiveness, and creativity.
6. Demonstrated track record of providing excellent customer service.
7. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
8. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
9. Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. High school or General Equivalency Diploma.
2. Bilingual (English/Spanish).

The Gaming Enterprise Division and the Tribal Enterprise Division (collectively Casino Del Sol) are divisions of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. As a result, preferential hiring will go in this order to: (1) enrolled members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe who meet the position’s minimum qualifications; (2) Spouses and biological and adopted children of enrolled Pascua Yaqui Tribal members who meet the position’s minimum qualifications; (3) Enrolled member of other Federal recognized Tribes who meet the position’s minimum qualifications; and (4) all others who meet the position’s minimum qualifications.
