Workforce Classification:
On-site
Kinwell was founded on the principle of personalized, whole-hearted care for every patient. We believe the best healthcare is a conversation, and one that includes nutrition, fitness, sleep, and behavioral health. Our Clinicians and Clinic Support staff drive real change in their patient’s well-being. Along the way, we are setting a new standard for primary care, making it more accessible, impactful, and holistic.
We are dedicated to building great places to work. We value all teammates and respect a diversity of thought, ideas, and cultures—all focused on the common goal of nurturing the health of those we serve.
Kinwell fosters a culture that promotes employee growth, collaborative innovation, and inspired leadership. We bring agility to work every day and thrive on the opportunity to create something refreshing and new. This is where you come in. If you are looking for a new primary care opportunity, one based on the quality of care, not the quantity of patients, please consider our available positions.
Kinwell is hiring a Behavioral Health Clinician to join our North Country Homes clinic in Spokane, Washington. The Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) is a behavioral health provider embedded in Kinwell’s primary care clinics and works as a core member of the primary care team. Their role is to assist and collaborate with the primary care clinician and team to improve their effectiveness and efficiency in managing the whole patient and the entire clinic population. Kinwell BHCs practice as generalists, seeing patients of varied ages with a wide range of behavioral issues affecting their health. They emphasize same-day visits and easy access, getting care to people when they most need and want it, and work seamlessly with our Physicians and other team members. The Behavioral Health Clinician is a regular, routine, and critical part of primary care at Kinwell. What you'll do:
Conduct thorough behavioral health assessments, including clinical interviews, diagnostic evaluations, and psycho-social assessments.
Use holistic frameworks that integrate mental, emotional, physical, and social factors in understanding patient needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other integrative therapy approaches.
Incorporate mind-body interventions such as mindfulness, stress reduction techniques, and lifestyle modifications in treatment plans.
Assist patients in overcoming barriers and adhering to treatment plans developed by medical clinicians.
Provide referrals to community resources, inpatient services, or specialty care as needed.
Work collaboratively with medical providers, specialists, care coordinators, and other health professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
Participate in team-based care meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment strategies, and holistic care planning.
Act as a Clinician to other healthcare professionals on the mental and behavioral health aspects of patient care.
BHC will work in partnership with BH Psychologists and understand when a situation is beyond their scope of knowledge and/or license and requires psychologist involvement.
Be curious to keep more care in primary care; solve problems, answer questions and spend time in service of learning on behalf of your patients
Educate medical clinicians and other clinic team members as well as patients and their families on behavioral health conditions, stress management, healthy lifestyle choices, and wellness strategies.
Promote the integration of mental health with physical care, creating resources and guiding patients toward self-management and resilience-building techniques.
Engagement with patients’ support networks as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes in the clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and clinical standards in the provision of mental health services.
Participate in peer review of EHR documentation, ensuring accurate and ethical standards across the Behavioral Health team.
What you'll bring:
Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Three years of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting.
Ability to see patients of all ages, including children and adolescents.
Experience working in a healthcare clinic or primary care setting. (Preferred)
Experience working with patients under the age of 18. (Preferred)
Experience working on an interdisciplinary team. (Preferred)
Ability to work closely with a diverse staff and patient population.
Have a well-developed therapeutic style, grounded in theory and training in empirically proven models, that can be applied to the wide range of issues seen in primary care.
Proficiency in evidence-based interventions (CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, etc.).
Skilled in providing patient-centered care and empathy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team.
Knowledge of holistic and integrative approaches to behavioral health care.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Proficiency incorporating technology into patient care (e.g., conducting virtual visits and utilizing electronic health records).
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care strongly preferred at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA), Red Cross, or Military Training Network (MTN) or willingness to obtain within 6-months of hire.
Working Environment
This position operates in a clinic environment, providing both in person and telehealth care. Collaboration with various healthcare providers is routine, and participation in wellness programs may also be required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a clinical environment, interact with patients for prolonged periods, and perform duties requiring a high level of concentration and emotional resilience.
Vaccine Requirement:
