We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced care center.
Description: The Medical Assistant will support the daily operations of the gastroenterology office by providing clinical and administrative assistance to physicians, clinicians, and patients. This role is essential in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate electronic record-keeping, and optimal patient care.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and support our mission.
Essential Duties:
Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Responsible for entering recalls and handling new prescription/prescription refills as directed by the physician
Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure patient care is delivered seamlessly and safely
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
Triage phone calls accordingly
Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as needed basis
Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Certification of Completion of accredited MA program (CMA or RMA) is preferred

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills

Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee should be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, lift and move up to 25 lbs. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate with standard office and procedure room noise levels. The Medical Assistant must be able to observe safe practice criteria in assisting patients.
