The Veeva Vault Engineer is responsible for the administration, configuration, and operational stability of the Veeva Vault RIM platform. This includes managing security, metadata, API integrations, and supporting migration and archival projects while ensuring GxP compliance.
Candidates must have 5-8 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science or Life Sciences. Professional certification in Veeva Vault Administration or Configuration is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration
• Administer and maintain the Veeva Vault RIM platform, ensuring high availability, security, and operational stability.
• Perform platform configuration, release management, and environment promotion activities.
• Support platform upgrades, configuration deployments, and regression validation.
Vault Configuration
• Configure and maintain Document Types, Object types, Fields, Picklists, Lifecycles, Workflows, Document Naming Rules, and Business Rules.
• Configure standard and custom business objects and document classifications.
• Manage Vault Configuration Packages and environment deployments.
• Configure document lifecycle states and state transitions.
Security & Access Management
• Configure and administer Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Manage Security Profiles, Permission Sets, User Roles, Dynamic Access Control, Groups, and Domain Security.
• Provision and deprovision users and service accounts.
• Implement least-privilege access aligned with compliance requirements.
Metadata & Business Object Management
• Design and maintain metadata models supporting Regulatory business processes.
• Configure and manage standard and custom business objects.
• Maintain object relationships, reference fields, parent-child hierarchies, and object dependencies.
• Support metadata governance and data quality initiatives.
API & Integration Support
• Support integration using Veeva Vault REST APIs, Direct Data API, VQL, Export Document Versions API, and Audit Trail API.
• Configure and troubleshoot API integrations with enterprise applications and AWS cloud services.
• Support metadata extraction, document export, and archival initiatives.
• Monitor API usage and assist in performance optimization.
Migration & Archival Support
• Support document, metadata, audit trail, and business object extraction for migration and archival projects.
• Generate Vault Configuration Reports and Configuration Migration Packages.
• Validate migration completeness through reconciliation and metadata verification.
• Support system decommissioning activities.
Compliance & Validation
• Ensure platform configuration complies with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and internal quality standards.
• Support Computer System Validation (CSV), audit readiness, and inspection activities.
• Maintain configuration documentation, SOPs, and validation artifacts.
Platform Monitoring & Support
• Monitor Vault background jobs, integrations, and platform health.
• Troubleshoot platform configuration, security, and workflow issues.
• Provide L2/L3 production support and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with Veeva Support to resolve platform-related issues.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with enterprise migration or archival projects.
• Experience integrating Veeva Vault with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Amazon S3, AppFlow, or middleware platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience supporting regulated Life Sciences organizations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Veeva Vault Administrator Certification or Veeva Vault Configuration Certification (preferred).
