The surgical technologist is responsible for maintaining a sterile field and organizing instruments for various surgical procedures under the supervision of an RN. They also assist in the operating room, restock supplies, and participate in a rotational call system to ensure continuous patient service.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and hold a certification in OR Technology (C-ST or C-SA) or verifiable prior experience as a scrub tech before 2009. A BLS certification is also required, and previous clinical experience in an operating room environment is desired.
