Job Summary: Under direct supervision, uses basic knowledge and skills obtained through education to obtain on-the-job training experience in the areas of Health Promotion and Obesity Prevention, Substance Misuse Prevention, Education & Workforce Development, or Behavioral Health. Interns will have the opportunity to actively participate in program deliverables including direct education and/or community-based projects that address policy, system or environmental changes, and/or public health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assisting with facilitation of program deliverables.
Providing service to the following age populations: children, adolescents, adults, and senior citizens in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
Maintaining professional relationships with community partners to ensure the successful delivery of programming.
Conduct research and compile data for reports and presentations.
Assist in the development and implementation of programs and initiatives.
Support outreach efforts to raise awareness about public health issues in the community.
Participate in community events and health fairs to promote education and services.
Collaborate with team members to develop educational materials and resources for various audiences.
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, organizing files, and managing databases.
Assist with program evaluation and data analysis to assess the effectiveness of interventions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Public speaking
Facilitation and/or classroom training experience (preferred)
Data entry (preferred)
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Office and Teams

Ability to:

• Travel to multiple sites to provide services

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

Minimum Degree Required: None.
Required Disciplines:
1. Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Health Education, Community Health or a related field
