Candidates need a high school diploma and either 4 years of inpatient coding experience or 2 years plus completion of an internal program. Required certifications include AHIMA or AAPC credentials, which must be obtained within one year of hire.

As our Inpatient Coder II, you will code and abstract complex inpatient records for data retrieval, analysis, reimbursement, and research, directly contributing to our organization's financial health and mission. Every day you will meticulously code and enter diagnostic and procedure codes into the designated system using the 3M encoder, navigate the EMR efficiently, and ensure all coding meets advanced quality and productivity standards across all facilities. To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced inpatient coding expertise, a strong understanding of complex diagnostic and procedure codes, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet high productivity and quality standards within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
