The Optical Technician is responsible for fitting and dispensing glasses and contact lenses based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. They focus on maximizing retail sales while providing a high-quality medical experience and technical support for patients.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with a minimum of one year of experience in customer or patient interaction. ABO and NCLE certifications are preferred, along with previous ophthalmic or medical office experience.

An Optical Technician will achieve a world class Total Patient Experience that maximizes retail sales while also supporting the patients’ medical needs. This team member is trained to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from the prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. They connect the patient's needs to the goods and services offered.
