The Pathways Administrator manages administrative duties for the foster program, including foster engagement, training, and animal pairing. They also provide behavioral support and assessment for shelter animals while coordinating medical care and data entry.
Requires a high school diploma and a passion for animal welfare, with preference for a college degree and experience in animal sheltering. Candidates must be comfortable handling animals of all temperaments and be available to work weekends and holidays.

The Pathways Administrator assists the Pathways team with all administrative duties that support the County shelter’s foster program. This includes the engagement and training of fosters and pairing animals with the appropriate foster home for their needs, and behavioral support and assessment of shelter animals. In addition to managing administrative work, this position assists in the hands-on programming as needed and therefore requires organizational skills, animal handling, behavior and basic medical care knowledge, and a passion for delivering top-notch customer service.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or relevant coursework preferred.
18 years or older required, 23 years or older preferred for the purposes of being added to group vehicle insurance policy.
One or more years’ experience in animal related field or animal sheltering preferred.
Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a similar role is highly desirable.
Fear Free Sheltering preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to unpleasant kennel smells. May have to handle dogs and cats that are stray, injured, diseased or vicious.
