The crossing guard directs children and traffic at assigned crosswalks to ensure student safety. They also monitor school grounds and parking lots while maintaining communication with school and local law enforcement regarding safety incidents.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and hold valid First Aid/CPR certification. The role requires the ability to work independently and manage student behavior effectively.

Reports consistently for work as scheduled

Directs visitors to office
Escorts children across the street and parking lots
Issues verbal warnings, reports misconduct, and requests assistance from appropriate personnel as required
Maintains communications with the building principal and/or Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, or Air Force Security Police regarding incidents that occur at assigned locations that could potentially impact the safety of pedestrians
Monitors student(s) behavior, ensuring their compliance to district/building rules, policies, and regulations
Supervises parking lots and school grounds
Ability to effectively manage conflict
Ability to greet and interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner
Ability to provide a warm and caring attitude toward students
Ability to work independently, without direct supervision
Commitment to the safety of students as a primary responsibility
