Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Wastewater modeller in our rapidly growing Edinburgh office – whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.
At AECOM, we’re at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients. These include contractors, charities and water companies. In this role, you will be one of the lead technical team members supporting the junior members of the team deliver top quality projects.
AECOM has recently been named preferred bidder for one of two Primary Designers for Scottish Water’s SR27 Enterprise. This transformational, multi-billion-pound programme is the highest value venture ever put into place by Scottish Water and will reshape Scotland’s water and wastewater infrastructure from 2027 to 2033 (with potential to extend for another 6 years).
AECOM will be at the heart of this ground-breaking delivery model, shaping design excellence at scale and working with Scottish Water and our Enterprise Partners to help drive outcomes that deliver value for customers in Scotland and go beyond net zero. Be the technical lead on the delivery of outputs from small to modelling medium projects
Effectively delegate tasks to the team as project workload and deadlines demand

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Experience using Infoworks ICM
Understand and work within financial and programme constraints of a project
Ability to develop technical specifications and scopes of works for projects.
Experience of technically reviewing projects, providing design and optioneering input, and in preparation of proposals.
Experience running a specific team of project engineers and technicians.
Experience liaising with government departments, local authorities, water and utility companies, SEPA and other public bodies.
A proven track record developing client relationships and securing repeat business work.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent qualification) or have proven track record/experience of delivering modelling projects
Be self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and take ownership of workload
Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way
Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
Excellent report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients.
Experience with coding languages such Ruby or Python
You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
