POSITION SUMMARY: The Polymer Center Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a maintenance shop that is under the umbrella responsibility of an on-site Division or Operations Manager. The Polymer Center Maintenance Supervisor supervises a mechanical and electrical technician team responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of fixed and mobile manufacturing equipment, as well as building and facility maintenance; and plans and schedules repair work for the work group to ensure that all work is done in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises and directs mechanical and electrical technicians in maintenance shop; conducts daily debrief meetings; coaches/counsels all technician levels on performance/corrective action, when necessary; makes hiring/termination decisions in concert with Human Resources and appropriate management; conducts employee training and performance evaluations; evaluates and makes recommendations for merit increases, promotions and job changes, as appropriate.
• Conducts Quality Control inspections; tracks issues and issue resolution to ensure all work is properly completed and is in accordance with the Company's safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
• Oversees maintenance shop inventory control system to ensure necessary equipment and parts levels are maintained and purchases are within budget.
• Reviews and approves expenses that are within scope of approval level; refers larger expenses or major repairs to manager as appropriate.
• Oversees repair diagnostics on more complex matters and provides coaching where necessary.
• Maintains advanced knowledge of all Polymer Center Sorting/Grinding/Washing equipment, including all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to manage advanced preventive and corrective maintenance functions of equipment used by the Company, including: stationary Polymer Center equipment such as conveyors, screens, reducers, balers, optical sorting units, air drum separators, compactors, magnets, dust collectors, metering bins, ballistic separators, delabelers, dewiring equipment, grinders/granulators, PET wash line equipment, optical flake sorting equipment, bulk material handling equipment, and others.
• Manages routine external service/maintenance providers and contracts related to equipment such as air compressors, boilers, dust collectors, facility services, select OEM equipment, and others.
• Partners with Operations Support team to ensure effective implementation and execution of company-wide maintenance systems and processes, such as CMMS and others.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in the recycling, manufacturing or related industry.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, OSHA and other federal and state regulations.

These innovative sites process rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. Our customers are increasingly looking for decarbonization solutions, and we are leveraging our network of landfills to meet that need. Republic has partnered with renewable gas developers to construct Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plants at our landfills, expanding beyond the 77 projects we currently have to make progress towards our goal to beneficially reuse 50% more biogas by 2030 (2017 baseline year).
