Full job description
If you are looking for a team that values you and your career potential, our teams are here to support your growth potential.
tdgFacilities is looking for a full-time Building Systems & Low Voltage Mobile Service Technician in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio to help serve our customers in the region.
Our teams are second to none, and thrive on a culture of balance, teamwork, and delivering results to our community of customers.
Low Voltage • Security • Access Control • Building Systems • Facility Maintenance
More than maintenance, modern buildings are becoming more connected every year. Access control, security, HVAC, lighting, doors, controls, sensors, and networked devices increasingly work together. We're building a technical team that understands those connections. If you're the kind of person who wants to know how things work, enjoys solving problems, and wants to build skills that go well beyond traditional maintenance, we'd like to talk with you. Come be a part of a team supporting the next generation of facility services.
We’re looking for a hands-on, technically curious technician who wants more than a narrowly defined maintenance role. As a Mobile Building Systems & Low Voltage Technician, you’ll work across the technologies and systems that keep modern facilities connected, secure, accessible, and operating reliably. One day you may be troubleshooting an access control system or installing low-voltage cabling; the next you may be diagnosing a door operator, working with building controls, or helping solve a general facility maintenance issue.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, low voltage / security system installations, learning new systems, working independently, and seeing the results of their work every day.
Schedule: Typically, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm (with occasional on-call responsibilities shared within a team rotation).
Pay: $24 to $29 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will span a variety of building systems, including:
Low-voltage wiring, cabling, terminations, and troubleshooting
Access control systems, card readers, electronic locks, and related hardware
Security devices, cameras, sensors, and associated infrastructure
Intercom and communication systems
Building automation and control system components
Door operators, electric strikes, request-to-exit devices, and related controls
Basic network-connected building devices
Low-voltage power supplies, transformers, relays, and control wiring
Troubleshooting building system communication and connectivity issues
Preventive maintenance and system inspections
Equipment replacement, upgrades, and small installation projects
General electrical and mechanical troubleshooting within appropriate qualifications
Commercial doors and building hardware
General facility repairs and mobile maintenance
Supporting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other facility technicians when building systems overlap
Documenting work performed, equipment information, deficiencies, and recommended repairs
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following:
Low-voltage systems
Security or access control
CCTV or surveillance systems
Building automation or controls
Commercial electrical work
Fire/security systems
Door and access systems
Structured cabling
HVAC controls
Industrial or commercial maintenance
General facility maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with low-voltage, security, controls, electrical, or commercial maintenance systems
Ability to read wiring diagrams, equipment documentation, and basic schematics
Comfortable using meters and common diagnostic tools
Understanding of basic electrical and low-voltage principles
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Comfortable working independently in commercial facilities
Ability to use mobile technology for work orders and documentation
Professional communication and customer-service skills
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with commercial maintenance and installation work
*Manufacturer-specific certifications or training in access control, security, building automation, networking, or controls are a plus but are not required for the right technically capable candidate.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Our technicians are more than parts changers. We want people who can walk into a facility, understand the problem, systematically troubleshoot it, communicate clearly with the customer and their team, and help determine the right solution. You'll be expected to:
Approach problems methodically and safely
Take ownership of assigned service calls and projects
Communicate clearly with customers, coordinators, and supervisors
Recognize when a problem requires additional technical expertise
Maintain clean and professional work areas
Accurately document findings and completed work
Protect customer facilities and equipment while performing service
Look for opportunities to prevent the next failure—not simply repair the current one
BENEFITS
Health (Medical/Dental/Vision)
Short Term/Long Term Disability
Paid Time Off & Holidays
401K
Company Vehicle (for delivery of service)
Phone Stipend
WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?
This position provides something many technician roles don't: exposure to the entire building. Instead of being limited to one type of equipment, you'll have the opportunity to develop experience across low-voltage, security, access controls, electrical interfaces, doors / door operators, mechanical systems, and general facility operations
