About the Role D|Watts is committed to redefining the construction experience for our clients. As a Superintendent with D|Watts you will be responsible for the smooth and timely completion of interior office buildouts, and for exceeding client expectations on every project. D|Watts Superintendents are the hands that make the vision of our clients come to life and the voice that sets a culture of respect and trust on our project sites. Our Superintendents plan, organize, direct, and control the building aspects on each project in order to meet budget, quality, time, and safety objectives. Our work is known for being high-end with complex design.
Responsibilities
Understand and administer the D|Watts safety program to include all subcontractors, ensure that all accidents/incidents are promptly reported and investigated, and assist in safety inspections by outside agencies
Direct the work flow consistent with the project schedule, communicate project priorities to field staff and subcontractors, maintain daily reports of all activities and site conditions, and manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance
Work with their project manager in formulating project schedule, ensure that the proper methods and sequence of installation are followed, makes and follows through with schedule commitments, and maintains D|Watts quality standards
Maintain good working relationship with all subcontractors on the project, develop relationships within the community which enhances business opportunities, and ensure subcontractors are treated fairly and respectfully
Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understand subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders, and identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutions
Develop and organize the field team, arrange for temporary facilities/utilities for the site, and identify long lead items that need to be expedited
Qualifications
At least 3 years’ experience as a Superintendent on interior office buildouts
At least 5 years’ experience in commercial general contracting
Extensive knowledge of principles of architecture, engineering, and construction
Mastery of reading construction drawings; tasks including reading, interpreting, and updating construction project-related drawings
Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
Good organizational skills and verbal communication skills
