Job Purpose

As a Senior QA Engineer specializing in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), you will own quality assurance for a substantial feature area, complex integration scope, or defined delivery workstream within an established project QA strategy.

You will translate business requirements, solution architecture, Business Manager configuration, integration contracts, dependencies, and release risks into a balanced, risk-based test approach while remaining hands-on in functional, exploratory, API, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.

You will coordinate coverage and dependencies, lead complex investigations, consolidate quality evidence, provide release-risk recommendations to project and client stakeholders, and mentor less-experienced QA engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the QA approach, planning, and execution for a substantial SFCC feature area, complex integration scope, or defined delivery workstream.
• Analyze business requirements, acceptance criteria, customer journeys, solution architecture, Business Manager configuration, data dependencies, integration contracts, and change impact to identify quality and testability risks early.
• Define a balanced, risk-based approach covering scope, priorities, test levels, test types, traceability, regression depth, estimates, dependencies, entry and exit criteria, quality evidence, and release-readiness needs.
• Select the most effective component, API, integration, storefront, Business Manager, system, and end-to-end test levels for each risk, avoiding duplicated, unstable, or low-value coverage.
• Lead validation of critical e-commerce journeys including product discovery, product detail, cart, checkout, payments, pricing, promotions, inventory, customer accounts, localization, and order lifecycle.
• Validate complex SFCC platform configuration and operational behavior across Business Manager, catalogs, price books, inventory lists, promotions, campaigns, customer groups, site preferences, jobs, feeds, caches, and data replication where applicable.
• Lead API and integration testing for OCAPI, SCAPI, LINK cartridges, payment, tax, fraud, search, shipping, OMS, ERP, inventory, customer-data, and other connected services.
• Validate authentication, contracts and schemas, failure handling, asynchronous processing, retries, timeouts, webhooks, error recovery, and cross-system data consistency.
• Coordinate testing dependencies across features, environments, test data, configurations, service versions, integrations, deployment pipelines, teams, and release activities.
• Lead complex cross-layer defect investigation across storefront, Business Manager, application, configuration, data, environment, integration, and third-party service layers.
• Create and review actionable defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, evidence, business impact, severity rationale, regression exposure, and likely ownership.
• Estimate and plan workstream-level QA effort, identifying assumptions, dependencies, environment needs, test-data constraints, regression impact, delivery trade-offs, and capacity risks.
• Monitor critical-risk coverage, defect trends, regression results, quality-gate outcomes, coverage limitations, and unresolved release risks.
• Consolidate quality evidence and provide evidence-based recommendations for release, conditional acceptance, remediation, redeployment, rollback, or escalation for the owned scope.
• Represent QA in refinement, technical discussions, defect triage, status reviews, and release-readiness discussions with engineering, delivery, product, and client stakeholders.
• Identify high-value automation candidates, review automation contributions, and support balanced regression coverage within the established project test automation strategy.
• Apply baseline accessibility, performance, security, resilience, browser, device, and localization checks to critical journeys, involving specialists when deeper validation is required.
• Use approved AI-assisted QA tools for analysis, test design, documentation, and defect investigation while validating generated outputs against requirements and application evidence.
• Review important QA artifacts, mentor less-experienced engineers, and contribute reusable SFCC risk catalogs, checklists, troubleshooting guidance, onboarding materials, and platform-specific testing recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating at Senior QA scope and owning quality activities for a significant feature area, complex integration scope, or delivery workstream.
• Typically 4+ years of professional software-testing experience, including substantial hands-on Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of SFCC storefront functionality, Business Manager configuration, and critical e-commerce journeys.
• Experience with at least one SFCC implementation model such as SFRA, SiteGenesis, etc.
• Advanced experience with requirements analysis, risk-based testing, exploratory testing, test design, regression planning, traceability, and selection of appropriate test levels.
• Advanced API and integration-testing experience, including authentication, contract and payload validation, failure handling, asynchronous processing, retries, timeouts, and cross-system data consistency.
• Strong experience testing complex integrations involving payment, tax, fraud, search, shipping, OMS, ERP, inventory, customer-data, or comparable enterprise services.
• Strong experience investigating complex cross-layer defects and leading defect-triage discussions.
• Experience estimating and planning workstream-level QA effort, including dependencies, environments, test data, constraints, regression impact, and release risk.
• Ability to communicate quality risks, coverage decisions, defect impact, release options, and recommended actions to technical, delivery, product, and client stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of web and commerce fundamentals including HTTP, REST, cookies, sessions, caching, browser behavior, and client-server interaction.
• Demonstrated ability to review QA work and mentor other engineers without formal management authority.
• Professional English communication skills sufficient to lead technical and quality-risk discussions in a global delivery environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience across multiple SFCC architecture models, including SFRA, SiteGenesis, Composable Storefront, or PWA Kit.
• Experience testing OCAPI and SCAPI in complex integration landscapes.
• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or another web-test automation framework and CI/CD-based regression execution.
• Experience supporting accessibility, performance, security, resilience, or multi-region commerce testing.
• Experience contributing reusable QA standards, playbooks, risk models, checklists, or platform-specific testing guidance.
• Client-facing consultancy experience in complex global delivery environments.
• A relevant Salesforce or commerce-platform certification.
