Responsible for the structural integrity and lifecycle management of offshore wind turbine foundations during the operational phase. This includes leading risk-based inspection strategies and providing technical authority for foundation systems to ensure safety and performance.
Requires a degree in Civil, Structural, Offshore, or Mechanical Engineering with proven experience in offshore wind foundations. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of structural analysis and marine environments, with Chartered Engineer status being desirable.
Summary of Assignment:
The Foundation Engineer is responsible for the structural integrity, performance and lifecycle management of offshore wind turbine foundations and substructures during the operational phase of the windfarm. The role ensures that all foundation assets are safe, compliant, and optimised for performance, supporting maximum turbine availability and revenue generation, while maintaining risks As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) in accordance with UK regulatory expectations.

Poised to play a key role in the UK’s energy future, powering the equivalent of half the homes in Scotland
Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, now under construction, will see 72 turbines located 15km off the Angus Coast with a grid connection in Cockenzie, East Lothian. Once complete, it will be one of Scotland’s largest offshore wind farms, generating enough green electricity to power half the homes in Scotland. Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm is owned by Inch Cape Offshore Limited, an equal joint venture between Edinburgh-based renewable and sustainable energy company, Red Rock Renewables Limited and Ireland’s leading energy company, ESB.
