Position Summary
Responsible for promoting the understanding of and engagement with science through interactions with K-12 educators and university faculty, as well as through the development of instructional materials.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Create science instructional materials, including lesson plans, assessments, and student-facing materials.
Collaborate with K-12 educators, informal educators, scientists, and university faculty to create high quality, engaging instructional materials.
Edit materials based on observations, teacher feedback and assessment results.
Facilitate our efforts to provide Wash U partner educators with high-quality curriculum and materials, professional development and data analysis.
Facilitate curriculum-based science professional development sessions to in-service teachers.
Collaborate with other ISP instructional specialists and other instructional leaders to create professional development sessions related to best practices in science teaching and learning, and teacher leadership.
Participate in research and evaluation efforts to inform curriculum development.
Observe teachers, collect and analyze quantitative data, and contribute to reports on efficacy of curriculum and kit materials for improving student outcomes in science.
Participate in general ISP activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
