Baristas are responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages while maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment. They also handle customer transactions and assist with catering events and general facility upkeep.
Candidates must be fee-paying students at Sheridan College and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants should be able to work effectively in a team, handle cash transactions, and adhere to food safety standards.

Baristas are responsible for the preparation and serving of all food and beverages in the Bruin Coffee House – Mississauga/Brampton/Oakville, as well as stocking, rotating, and prep of raw materials and menu items. Baristas may also be asked to help with catering events and additional prep tasks. They are required to keep a clean and organized station, keep the dish area tidy and sanitary, and to perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks. Baristas will be expected to demonstrate menu, recipe, and general product knowledge and participate in staff contests and food features or themes. They will also be expected to provide excellent customer service, greet guests enthusiastically, and handle debit/credit/ one card transactions appropriately.
The Barista reports to the Kitchen Supervisor, Food & Beverage Managers, or supervisor on duty at their respective campus of employment.

This must be done in accordance with all hospitality & operations staff as a whole.
The functions of Baristas cover a wide variety of responsibilities in the daily operations of the SSU hospitality & facilities and may be modified from time to time by the management team. It is important to note that not all functions and duties are contained within this definition, and the position itself should be ever changing and adaptive. Nevertheless, specific roles and responsibilities allocated to this position include, but are not limited to the following:
