The Assistant Manager, Government Affairs is a proactive and execution-oriented professional who demonstrates strong interest in policy engagement, external communication, and cross-functional collaboration. This role requires an outgoing and positive individual who enjoys daily operational work, takes ownership of assigned tasks, and effectively coordinates both internal and external stakeholders.
· Supports liaison and engagement with government agencies and key external stakeholders; expands and deepens engagement with industry stakeholders
· Leads and coordinates internal and external stakeholders in the end-to-end execution of collaborative projects and events with government, academic institutions.
· Monitors and collects policy development; synthesizes and analyzes findings into actionable insights aligned with business needs
· Delivers assigned tasks efficiently, on time, and to a high standard of quality
· Well-versed in STM publishing and research policy and industry landscape; intellectually curious and a committed lifelong learner
· Proven track record of project management and cross-border, cross-cultural, and cross-organizational communication; able to deliver strong results under high-pressure conditions
· Extensive experience with policy documents and professional writing; adept at distilling key insights from complex and voluminous information
· Outgoing, positive, and high-energy with genuine passion for the work; comfortable with a reasonable degree of business travel and external engagement activities
· Bachelor's degree required, master’s degree preferred; 3+ years of experience in government affairs, STM publishing, or university and research institutions
· In-depth knowledge of publishing and research-related policies and key stakeholders, with strong industry insight and awareness
· Demonstrated experience in leading and managing collaborative projects, and coordinating high-profile global delegation visits and meetings.
· Established network of government and industry key stakeholders is preferred, with the ability to strategically expand and cultivate relationship pipelines
