Job Summary This role contributes to the success of Starbucks Asia Pacific by strengthening our market planning capabilities as we re-imagine the physical landscape of where, what and how we execute our Starbucks stores in order to unlock growth opportunities in the Asia Pacific region.
The individual will generate tools to forecast store opportunities, track industry updates on trends and competitive landscape, identify new segments and store format opportunities, integrate data sharing between markets and the Hong Kong Support Center. The store development function aspires to be even more data-driven, using empirical evidences combined with local market experience, to develop market plans that support the mid- to long-term strategic expansion. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks's guiding principles.
Key Responsibilities • Leverages data and analytics to shape Asia Pacific store development strategy and growth priorities. • Develops market holding capacity plans for 14 markets to guide long-term portfolio growth. • Creates format-specific location profiles to improve site selection and store performance. • Influences leadership and market partners through data-driven insights and recommendations. • Partners cross-functionally to integrate customer, operational, and financial insights into market plans. • Leads strategic growth initiatives using forecasting, location analytics, and scenario modeling. • Builds market planning capabilities and best-practice sharing across Asia Pacific markets. • Manages third-party data partnerships to strengthen market intelligence and trend analysis. • Oversees Atlas data governance and platform integrity to enable accurate, fact-based decisions.
Required Experience • 10+ years of research and consulting experience, preferably in the real estate and/or retail industry • Proven record in using Tableau, or similar B.I. tools and utilizing G.I.S. platform for location-based analysis
Required Skills & Competencies • Strong analytical and technical capabilities, with comfort working with syndicated data • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and integrate diverse functional needs • Strong interpersonal skills with cultural awareness and empathy across diverse markets and backgrounds • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects while consistently meeting deadlines • Proven ability to lead, drive, and collaborate cross-functionally across teams and markets • Strong influencing skills to partner effectively with store development and market planning stakeholders • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely • Adaptable and agile, with the ability to respond to evolving priorities and business needs
