This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Part-time Early Career Structural Engineer to work out of our Boston, MA office. Be involved in projects with our Structural Engineering Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges. The successful candidate will have the following key attributes:

Your Impact
Develop and maintain an interactive structural material quantity (SMQ) and carbon tracking dashboard to monitor embodied carbon metrics across structural engineering projects, using business intelligence tools aligned with WSP's sustainability reporting objectives.
Collect, clean, and structure project-level data from multiple internal sources to support SMQ tracking, carbon analysis and reporting workflows, applying data management principles consistent with graduate-level business analytics training.
Analyze SMQs and embodied carbon data across materials, structural systems, project types, and geographic regions to identify trends, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.
Generate reports and data visualizations summarizing findings from carbon tracking and sustainability initiatives for internal stakeholders, project managers, and engineering leadership.
Apply analytical and statistical frameworks to benchmark carbon performance across projects and support data-driven decision making within the structural engineering practice.
Perform structural design of new buildings and restoration of existing buildings throughout the United States
Analyze and design superstructures and foundations in timber, concrete, steel, and masonry.
Utilize latest technology and digital tools for design
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience
Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
Familiarity with process and concepts for design/build.
Familiarity with relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Experience with Building Information Modeling software, such as Autodesk Revit
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent or upcoming May 2026 graduates in an accredited Civil/Architectural/Structural Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program.
Masters Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
The successful candidate will have 0-3 years of internship experience in Civil/Architectural/Structural Engineering.
Experience using Revit, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software.
