Position Overview
ENSPIRE Consulting Group, LLC is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and collaborative Behavioral Support Consultant to provide school-based behavioral support to students in grades K–12.
The Behavioral Support Consultant will work collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, special education teams, related service providers, and families to identify behavioral needs and develop practical, individualized strategies that promote student success. The consultant will support students with a variety of behavioral, emotional, developmental, and learning needs within the school environment.
This position is ideal for a behavioral professional who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary educational team and is passionate about helping children and adolescents develop the skills necessary to succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally.
The Behavioral Support Consultant will provide consultation, observation, assessment, intervention planning, staff coaching, and ongoing monitoring of student progress. Services should be data-informed, student-centered, and designed to support participation and success within the school setting.
Essential Responsibilities
Student Behavioral Support
Provide behavioral consultation and support for students in grades K–12 experiencing behavioral, emotional, social, developmental, or learning-related challenges.
Observe students across school environments, including classrooms, lunchrooms, hallways, recess, and other relevant settings.
Identify behavioral patterns, environmental factors, triggers, and potential functions of challenging behaviors.
Develop positive, proactive strategies to increase appropriate behaviors and reduce behaviors that interfere with learning or participation.
Support students in developing replacement behaviors, coping strategies, self-regulation skills, communication skills, social skills, and problem-solving skills.
Assist educational teams in creating structured and supportive environments that promote student engagement and success.
Provide direct behavioral support when clinically or educationally appropriate.
Behavioral Assessment & Intervention Planning
Conduct and/or assist with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other behavioral assessments as appropriate to the individual's role and credentials.
Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret behavioral data.
Develop individualized behavior support plans and behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with the student's educational team.
Assist with the implementation and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), IEP-related behavioral supports, and other individualized interventions.
Establish appropriate data collection procedures to measure student progress.
Regularly review behavioral data and make recommendations for modifying interventions when necessary.
Ensure behavioral recommendations are practical, measurable, and appropriate for implementation within the school environment.
School-Based Consultation
Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teachers, school administrators, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, counselors, paraprofessionals, and other related-service providers.
Participate in IEP meetings, student support meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other school-based meetings as requested.
Provide recommendations regarding classroom structure, environmental modifications, reinforcement strategies, prompting, transitions, and other behavioral supports.
Assist school teams in understanding the relationship between student behavior, academic performance, communication, social-emotional functioning, and environmental factors.
Promote consistent implementation of behavioral strategies across staff members and school settings.
Serve as a behavioral resource and consultant to school personnel.
Staff Training & Coaching
Provide training, modeling, coaching, and feedback to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school personnel regarding behavioral support strategies.
Educate staff on evidence-based behavioral interventions and positive behavior support practices.
Model appropriate intervention strategies within the classroom and other school settings.
Support staff in implementing individualized behavior plans with fidelity.
Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to improve the effectiveness and consistency of behavioral interventions.
Develop or assist with behavioral resources, visual supports, reinforcement systems, data collection tools, and other materials as needed.
Documentation & Data Management
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of observations, consultations, interventions, and student progress.
Complete behavioral reports, progress summaries, and recommendations as required.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Track behavioral data and use information to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Communicate significant behavioral concerns or changes in student functioning to appropriate members of the student's educational team.
Complete all required documentation within established timelines.
Family Collaboration
Collaborate with parents/guardians and school personnel when appropriate to promote consistency across settings.
Communicate behavioral recommendations in a professional, understandable, and supportive manner.
Participate in team discussions regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and intervention strategies.
Support families and school teams in identifying practical strategies that can promote student success.
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards when working with students, families, and school personnel.
Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.
Follow all ENSPIRE policies and procedures as well as applicable school policies and regulations.
Maintain required professional credentials, certifications, clearances, and training.
Participate in supervision, consultation, professional development, and team meetings as required.
Demonstrate cultural responsiveness and respect for the individual needs, strengths, and backgrounds of students and families.
Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with ENSPIRE and its school partners.
Other duties may be assigned based on the needs of ENSPIRE and its partnering schools.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Behavioral Health, or a related field.
Experience working with children and/or adolescents in educational, behavioral health, therapeutic, or related settings.
Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral principles and evidence-based behavioral interventions.
Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
Ability to manage multiple students, priorities, and school-based responsibilities.
Preferred
Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Education, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or a related field.
Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, emotional/behavioral needs, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, or other exceptionalities.
Experience providing behavioral consultation or staff training.
Knowledge of IEPs, special education processes, MTSS/PBIS, and school-based behavioral supports.

The Behavioral Support Consultant will primarily work within K–12 school environments and may support students across multiple settings throughout the school day.
