Develop detailed 2D and 3D design drawings and specifications for products using CAD software. Review and analyze specifications and sketches to correct product deficiencies and reduce production problems.
Requires an AA/BS degree or technical certificate, preferably with over 4 years of experience in CAD drafting. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Pro-E and a strong foundation in mathematics are essential.
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
Using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software, develop detailed 2D/3D design drawings and specifications for products. Create, modify and/or revise designs to correct operating/product deficiencies or to reduce production problems. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
