The role supports the planning and delivery of clinical trials by managing regulatory submissions and clinical supply logistics. It also involves tracking study budgets and ensuring compliance with ICH GCP and local regulations.
A degree in Life Sciences such as Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry, or Medicine is required. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a proactive mindset toward digital and data-driven approaches.
The Clinical Operations Specialist supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of clinical trials at a country level in line with ICH GCP, local regulations, and GSK standards. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely regulatory submissions, efficient clinical supply management, and accurate financial tracking, contributing to high-quality and compliant study execution.
Define and support regulatory and ethics submission strategies; prepare, review, and track submission documentation
Coordinate communication with regulatory authorities, ethics committees, and sites
Manage clinical trial supplies and logistics, including import/export and cold chain (if applicable)
Oversee vendors for supply storage, distribution, and site payments where applicable
Ensure timely delivery of clinical materials and compliance with local regulations
Track and manage study budgets, forecasts, and payments to sites and vendors
Support audits, ensure SOP compliance, and maintain accurate documentation
Facilitate coordination between local and global teams
Leverage digital and AI tools to improve efficiency and decision-making
Degree in Life Sciences (e.g. Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine)
Good communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement
Comfortable using digital tools and data-driven approaches
This role is on-site in South Africa with some flexibility for hybrid working as agreed with your manager. You will need to be available for regular in-office days to collaborate with stakeholders.
