The Senior Power Underwriter will negotiate and underwrite complex, cross-border Power risks while collaborating with leadership to shape growth strategies for alternative energy segments. They will act as the primary contact for target accounts, maintaining broker relationships and contributing to the development of underwriting manuals and pricing methodologies.
Candidates must have extensive underwriting experience in wind, solar, and battery storage projects, along with a strong understanding of the London market and international business practices. Professional technical qualifications such as ACII are preferred, alongside high-level computer literacy and strong negotiation skills.

Are you able to build trusted relationships and influence key stakeholders – brokers, clients and colleagues – across functions and geographies, even without formal authority? Do you enjoy bringing structure to complex risks and translating strategic priorities into clear underwriting decisions and tangible business outcomes?
Global Specialty is entering an exciting new phase, and we’re looking for a Senior Power Underwriter to play a central role in delivering our strategic ambitions in the Power segment. Reporting into the Global Energy team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders – including Global Specialty leadership, portfolio managers, regional underwriters and technical specialists – to underwrite complex, cross‑border Power risks and help shape the future of our energy portfolio.
You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment, bring clarity and structure to ambiguity in technical and commercial risk, and have a strong track record of driving results through disciplined underwriting, effective collaboration and robust stakeholder management.
