The Underwriter will manage a portfolio of commercial real estate loans, including term and construction financing for various housing and community projects. They are responsible for conducting underwriting analysis, assessing risks, and preparing commitment letters while ensuring adherence to credit policies.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a business-related field and possess at least 5 years of experience in real estate financing. Strong financial analytical skills and knowledge of commercial credit underwriting are essential for this role.

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As an Underwriter, Commercial Real Estate, you will play a critical role supporting the growth and management of a portfolio of loans to values aligned businesses and social purpose real estate projects, including (but not limited to) term and construction financing for market rental housing, affordable housing, green buildings, and community spaces. You’ll join a small, diverse team of entrepreneurial, purpose-driven individuals and contribute your expertise in credit underwriting and portfolio management with a specialized lens on real estate finance.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at the Vancity Community Investment Bank head office location and your Ontario based home office and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Commercial Real Estate. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
