Hours: 07:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday Office-based with flexibility when required Benefits: 22 days holiday + bank holidays, plus an additional day per year of service (up to 5 extra days)
Are you the kind of person who spots supply issues before they become customer problems? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where organisation, attention to detail and proactive thinking make a real impact?
If this sounds like you, a leading specialist distributor of construction related materials is looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join their growing supply chain team in Portsmouth.
About the Company
This well-established and respected business operates across UK and international markets, supplying specialist construction products to a broad customer base. Known for its collaborative culture and commitment to service excellence, the company continues to grow through strong supplier partnerships, operational efficiency, and customer focus. You'll join a close-knit supply chain team where your contribution will be highly valued and where there is genuine opportunity to develop your career within supply chain planning and operations.
What's the role about?
As Supply Chain Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in keeping stock moving and ensuring products are available when customers need them.
You'll be responsible for:
Managing the purchasing and ordering cycle from start to finish.
Monitoring supply and demand trends and highlighting potential risks before they impact stock availability.
Liaising with suppliers across the UK and Europe to ensure timely deliveries.
Supporting internal sales and commercial teams with accurate supply updates.
Managing ERP system activities including purchase orders, stock monitoring and exception management.
Key Responsibilities
Raise and manage purchase orders through the ERP system.
Monitor stock levels, supplier performance and delivery schedules.
Proactively identify potential shortages, delays or supply risks and escalate where appropriate.
Maintain regular communication with suppliers and coordinate resolutions to delivery issues.
Support the Commercial Manager with purchasing and supply activities.
Provide accurate supply chain information to internal stakeholders, including sales teams.
Assist colleagues and provide cover across the supply chain function during busy periods or absences.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:
Previous experience in a Supply Chain, Purchasing, Buying or Procurement Coordinator position.
ERP system experience, ideally NetSuite or a similar platform.
Experience working within a B2B environment.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising accuracy.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the confidence to identify trends and potential issues quickly.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.
French or Spanish language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
What's in it for you?
Join a supportive supply chain team, working closely with experienced colleagues.
Clear opportunity to develop into a Supply Chain Planning career path.
Exposure to international suppliers and a dynamic B2B environment.
Stable Monday-to-Friday working hours with office-based flexibility when needed.
Competitive salary of up to £35,000 depending on experience, alongside an increasing holiday entitlement package.
Ready to take the next step?
If you're looking for a supply chain role where you can make a visible impact, develop your career, and become a trusted part of a high-performing team, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today or contact us for a confidential discussion.
