Assist chronically homeless individuals and families in obtaining and maintaining stable housing through landlord engagement and case management. Provide ongoing support including housing searches, eviction prevention, and critical time intervention to ensure long-term housing stability.
Requires a minimum of a college diploma in Social Sciences, though a Bachelor of Social Work is preferred, and 1-3 years of experience with chronic homelessness. A valid driver's license and a current Vulnerable Sector Check are mandatory requirements.

Mission Statement
The Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.
Assist chronically homeless individuals and families of York Region to obtaining and maintaining appropriate accommodation and provide ongoing housing based case management (CTI) through telephone and/or home visits.
Housing Specialists procure housing through landlord engagement and subsequently connects chronically homeless individuals and families with prescreened housing choices and landlords that enable housing stability. Housing Retention supports will include but are not limited to housing searches, transportation, viewing, application assistance, housing income supports warm transfer referrals, landlord tenant act training, eviction prevention supports, rapid rehousing and housing based time limited critical time intervention case management that will contribute to successfully getting housed and/or staying housed.
Note: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
