Full job description

ABOUT THE FIRM

Province is an internationally recognized advisory firm that helps clients navigate complex strategic, operational, financial, and legal challenges. Our team provides a broad suite of multi-disciplinary services to clients across four key areas of practice: restructuring advisory; disputes, investigations & risk advisory; capital markets; and office of the CFO. Province and StoneTurn together form a leading global advisory firm that helps clients navigate their most complex strategic, operational, financial, and legal challenges. By integrating StoneTurn’s investigative, compliance, and dispute capabilities with Province’s established leadership in restructuring, interim management, capital markets, and litigation support, the combined firm brings deep global experience, a proven track record in high-stakes matters, and a multidisciplinary approach to each engagement.

Our core values guide how we work, make decisions, and serve our clients and communities. We are committed to forging deep, trust-based relationships; delivering excellence through accountability and innovation; maintaining a relentless focus on client outcomes; and empowering our people to grow, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact. These principles shape our culture and define what it means to succeed at our firm.

ROLE SUMMARY

Province is seeking a Partner to help lead the continued growth of its Office of the CFO practice. This role reports to the Office of CFO Chair. In this role, you will serve as a senior leader responsible for driving new business, shaping the practice’s go-to-market strategy, and delivering sophisticated financial advisory solutions to CFOs, finance organizations, private equity sponsors, boards, and investors across a range of industries. As CFOs navigate heightened regulatory complexity, economic volatility, and accelerating digital transformation within the finance function, demand for Office of the CFO advisory services continues to expand rapidly. This Partner will play a central role in capturing that market opportunity, building enduring senior-level client relationships, and developing the next generation of firm leaders.

Success in this role will be measured by the ability to drive revenue growth, expand and strengthen client relationships, deliver exceptional client outcomes, develop high-performing talent, and contribute to the continued growth and market leadership of the Office of the CFO practice.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Business Development & Revenue Growth: Spearhead the pursuit of new client acquisitions while driving organic growth within the existing portfolio. This includes identifying high-value advisory opportunities, lead generation through professional networks, and converting complex enterprise needs into long-term, profitable engagements.
  • Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy & Execution: Partner closely with the Office of CFO Chair and peer partners to refine the practice’s market positioning. You will be responsible for identifying emerging market trends — including finance digitization, AI-enabled FP&A, and the growing demand for interim and event-driven CFO support — developing differentiated service offerings, and executing a cohesive strategy to increase the firm’s footprint in the CFO advisory space.
  • Engagement Oversight & Client Relationship Management: Serve as the executive lead on high-stakes client matters, ensuring the delivery of sophisticated solutions that align with the client’s strategic financial goals. You will provide top-tier quality control and maintain senior-level relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Team Mentorship: Lead, develop, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of consultants and managers. Your focus will be on fostering a culture of excellence, overseeing the technical execution of deliverables, and building a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Operational Excellence & Financial Performance: Monitor the profitability of assigned client accounts by overseeing resource allocation, margin management, and engagement timelines. You will ensure that team execution not only meets technical standards but also adheres to the firm’s financial performance metrics and operational benchmarks.
  • Collaborative Practice Integration: Actively collaborate with other service lines and peer partners — including restructuring, disputes & investigations, and capital markets — to facilitate cross-functional solutions and expand client relationships across the combined Province and StoneTurn platform.

QUALIFICATIONS / IDEAL CANDIDATE

Academic/Work:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in CFO advisory, financial consulting, public accounting, restructuring, or senior corporate finance leadership (e.g., CFO, Controller, VP of Finance), including significant tenure at a national or global advisory firm
  • Demonstrated track record of originating and growing advisory revenue, including an established network of CFO, private equity, lender, and board-level relationships and a history of converting those relationships into profitable engagements
  • CPA, CFA, and/or MBA strongly preferred
  • Strong academic record from a reputable undergraduate/graduate program

Technical:

  • Deep expertise across core Office of the CFO domains, including FP&A and forecasting, liquidity and 13-week cash flow management, financial close and reporting optimization, technical accounting, and finance operating model design
  • Experience leading finance transformation initiatives, including ERP/EPM system implementations and the application of automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tools within the finance function
  • Transaction and event-readiness experience, such as M&A due diligence and integration, carve-outs, IPO readiness, and interim financial leadership mandates
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with the executive presence to present to boards, C-suites, and investor audiences

Behaviors:

  • Entrepreneurial Drive: a builder’s mindset with the energy and initiative to grow a practice, develop new service offerings, and seize market opportunities as they emerge
  • Trust: exceptional maturity and the corresponding ability to interact with CFOs, boards, sponsors, lenders, lawyers, and senior executives, presenting the candid truth in a helpful manner
  • Leadership: proven ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative, accountable culture
  • Communication Skills: ability to condense large amounts of financial and operational information into logical, thoughtful and concise solutions, presentations and well-written reports
  • Collaboration: a firm-first orientation, actively cross-selling and integrating with peer partners and adjacent service lines to deliver holistic client solutions
  • Adaptability: willingness to travel flexibly to support client projects, cultivate business development opportunities, and maintain a visible presence in key markets

  • Excellent salary and bonus plans
