The Cleaning Operative is responsible for maintaining assigned areas to a high standard using specialized equipment and following established cleaning schedules. They must also manage cleaning stock, maintain tool records, and comply with all health and safety procedures.
Candidates must have previous cleaning experience and a basic health and safety qualification. The role requires the ability to operate cleaning equipment and the capacity to pass security clearance checks for a 5-year history.

At Serco, we take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for those in our care. We have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaning Operative to join our dedicated team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre.
Gatwick IRCs comprise Brook House and Tinsley House Immigration Removal Centres. Gatwick Pre-Departure Accommodation (PDA) is a small, discreet facility annexed to Tinsley House that provides short-stay accommodation and support to families with children under 18 years of age. Serco manages and delivers operations at both centres on behalf of the Home Office.
By joining our Cleaning Services team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all assigned areas are cleaned to the highest standard using the provided equipment. You will also keep schedules updated, maintain records of tools, and carry out any other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager or Senior Engineer.
