Full job description

Salt Security is the original API Security vendor pioneering the market as the first vendor in 2018.  Since then we have exhibited hyper-growth in a number of customers, threats stopped, and revenue.  We saw API security as the security battleground of the future years ago as APIs started to form the foundation of the application innovation needed to drive business success today.  Across banks, retail and transportation, IoT, autonomous vehicles, and smart cities, every modern app depends on APIs. Attackers realize APIs are the conduits to all sorts of valuable data and services – within the year, APIs are predicted to be the number one application threat vector. Without secure APIs, businesses cannot rapidly innovate. Salt Security has delivered the only patented solution to discover all APIs and their exposed data, stop API attackers, and provide remediation details for dev teams to write more secure APIs.

At Salt, we’re passionate about what we do. We work as a team and embrace new ideas, wherever they come from. We also enjoy all the benefits of a startup environment, including quickly seeing the results of your work, making an outsized impact on our company, and solving diverse challenges.

Want to make a big difference? We encourage you to apply!

About the position:

We're looking for a Technical Product Marketing Manager who sits at the intersection of product depth and market storytelling. You'll own the technical narrative for Salt's platform - translating complex AI and API security capabilities into sharp positioning, battle-tested competitive intel, and content that resonates with security practitioners and enterprise buyers alike.

What will you do:

  • Build and maintain competitive intelligence - deep familiarity with the competitive landscape, turning that intelligence into sharper positioning, better sales conversations, and stronger launches.
  • Develop and evangelize Salt's point of view on AI security, agentic workflows, MCP, and API-driven AI architectures.
  • Create high-impact enablement assets: battlecards, technical briefs, demo scripts, solution sheets.
  • Partner with Product on launches: translate technical capabilities into business impact, write the narrative, and drive GTM alignment across Sales, SE, and CS.
  • Define how AI tools are used within the role.
  • Create technical content that helps define emerging AI security categories and best practices.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the product and marketing teams.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years in product marketing, with a technical background or domain knowledge in cybersecurity.
  • Experience in cybersecurity - agentic/ai security, cloud security, or adjacent domains strongly preferred; API security experience is a bonus.
  • Deep familiarity with the competitive landscape - knows how to turn that intelligence into sharper positioning, better sales conversations, and stronger launches.
  • Strong content instincts: knows how to sharpen a message that was written by engineers.
  • Has shipped end-to-end launches independently, and is looking for a role with real scope, not an inherited playbook.
  • Enough technical depth to engage security engineers and architects credibly - and the communication range to translate that into business-level narratives.
  • Hands-on with AI tools.

Nice to have:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Salt Security developed the industry’s first Agentic Security Platform, designed to secure the new digital infrastructure created by LLMs, AI agents, MCP servers, and APIs. As organizations deploy autonomous agents that reason, decide, and act across enterprise systems, the traditional security perimeter breaks down. Agents do not just think, they act. They call APIs, trigger workflows, write to databases, and execute tasks across your infrastructure. The moment an agent decides to do something, it leaves the model layer entirely and enters your enterprise systems. That is the action layer. And right now, most security teams have almost no visibility into it. The modern enterprise runs on an Agentic AI action layer where LLMs provide the reasoning, MCP servers provide the connectivity, and APIs are the buttons and levers that turn agent decisions into real-world consequences. Securing the model without securing the action layer is not a security strategy, it is a gap. Salt provides continuous visibility and protection across this architecture through the Agentic Security Graph—a correlated view of agents, MCP servers, APIs, and downstream systems that draws from four distinct data sources: external exposure, configuration posture, code-level signals, and live runtime traffic. By combining cloud-scale big data, patented AI/ML, and deep behavioral analysis, Salt detects the subtle attack patterns traditional tools miss, including business logic abuse, lateral movement, and low-and-slow attacks that pass prompt filters cleanly and only reveal themselves at the action layer. The Salt platform enables organizations to: • Discover all APIs, MCP servers, shadow deployments, and agent-connected services • Govern posture across distributed agentic environments • Detect and stop behavioral attacks in real time • Understand how AI agents interact with sensitive systems and data • Reduce risk while accelerating AI adoption
