Join Our Team as an Assistant Cook – Term Time Only.
Are you looking for a rewarding role that fits around your life? As an Assistant Cook working at St Bede's High School, you’ll enjoy a consistent schedule with no evening, weekend, or school holiday shifts – perfect for maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
This is a permanent, part-time position with a guaranteed 30 hours per week.
In this role, you will:
Prepare, cook, and serve healthy, balanced meals to pupils in line with service standards
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently following training
Set up and clear down dining areas, including moving and arranging furniture
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas
Support the Unit Manager with task allocation and team supervision
Step in for the Unit Manager when required
Communicate with pupils, staff, and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner
Attend training sessions and team meetings as needed

Have experience in catering or food preparation (this is a bonus, not a must!)

Qualifications & Experience:
Basic numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
Catering qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ equivalent are desirable
On-the-job training will be provided
