Overview
At KPMG in Canada, our people bring their unique perspectives to Canada’s most important challenges. Here, you can build momentum that reaches beyond our business, develop skills for the future, and take ownership of your career with support at every stage. Join a firm where your career can make a difference.
Your work matters. As part of our Audit & Assurance practice, you’ll deliver high‑quality work that supports trust, transparency, and confidence across both public and private organizations. We foster an environment of high challenge, where curiosity and critical thinking are encouraged. Through high support, including progressive learning, strong coaching, inclusive teamwork, and a shared commitment to integrity, we perform at our best – measuring what matters, recognizing impact, and continuously evolving to deliver excellence. This creates a culture where the best work happens when high challenge and high support work together. That balance is how our values show up—in how we work, how we lead, and what we deliver.
KPMG’s Business School (KBS) Audit is committed to building the Audit professionals’ knowledge and skills to maintain and uphold audit quality in client work. Towards this end, the KBS supports their professional development through development and delivery of high quality, interactive web-based and instructor-led training. We are currently looking for an eager Learning Designer to join our team with a strong opportunity for further career development in the future to support the development of web-based learning.
What you will do
Map technical course material (facilitator guides, slide decks and exercise materials) and apply instructional design principles to produce cohesive and effective courses (web-based and instructor-led training) with measurable outcomes on technical audit and accounting topics, using rapid development tools.
Manage the development of courses, ensuring timelines are met and resources are appropriately utilized.
Develop and maintain training related forms, job aids and materials.
Engage with clients and Subject Matter Experts and other stakeholders to ensure content and delivery align with business goals and learner needs.
Test effectiveness of courses on the learning management system and document findings.
Maintain project documentation and course folders.
Serve as a technical resource for programs that are internally developed and presented.
At times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need extra time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.
What you bring to the role
Post-secondary Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience in Instructional Design and Adult learning.
5+ years proven working experience as an instructional designer for web-based and instructor-led training.
3+ years project management experience.
Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word and MS PPT.
Experience working with LMS (Learning Management Systems).
2+ years’ experience with Articulate 360 (Rise & Storyline).
Excellent written communication skills with an ability to write effective instructional text.
Self-starter, flexible, and able to work independently.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Intellectual curiosity, analytical acumen, strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
Adept at relationship building and open to feedback.
Programming savvy an asset.
Familiarity with other eLearning technology and authoring tools such as Captivate, Camtasia or similar an asset.
Audio/video editing skills an asset.
