Full job description
Lead risk with influence. Enable better outcomes. Shape the future of advice and financial services.
We're looking for an experienced risk leader to join our Risk Management team as Head of Risk – Advice, Finance & Enterprise Services. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer – Asset Management, Advice & Technology, you'll lead a high-performing team responsible for providing independent Line 2 risk oversight across our Advice businesses, Finance, Fund Administration & Operations and Enterprise Services.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll partner with senior executives to foster a strong risk and compliance culture, providing strategic challenge and practical guidance that enables the business to achieve its objectives safely, commercially and in line with regulatory expectations.
What you'll be doing
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Risk professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Provide independent Line 2 oversight and constructive challenge across Advice, Actuate (intrafund advice), Finance, Fund Administration & Operations and Enterprise Services.
Partner with business leaders to deliver practical, commercial risk advice aligned to the Group's Risk Management Framework.
Oversee key risk management activities, including business planning, regulatory obligations, compliance plans, change initiatives, control assurance, incident and breach management, risk assessments and attestations.
Coordinate and prioritise team deliverables, ensuring high-quality, timely outcomes across a diverse portfolio.
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation, influencing decision-making and promoting proactive risk management.
Work closely with the broader Risk Leadership team to deliver consistent, enterprise-wide risk outcomes and support strategic initiatives.
Contribute to Executive, Board and Committee reporting, presenting clear insights on key risks, emerging issues and risk performance.
Represent Risk Management at governance forums and support regulatory engagement and industry consultation where required.
Champion a strong risk culture that balances customer outcomes, regulatory expectations and commercial objectives.
What you'll bring
Proven experience leading high-performing Operational Risk or Compliance teams within financial services.
Strong knowledge of operational risk management frameworks, governance practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
Experience supporting Advice, Wealth Management, Financial Services or customer-facing business functions will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior executives through credible advice and constructive challenge.
Strong understanding of the Australian financial services regulatory landscape and emerging industry risks.
Experience operating within large, complex organisations undergoing transformation or significant change.
A collaborative leadership style with a passion for coaching, developing talent and building capability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience preparing and presenting reports to Executive and Board-level governance forums.
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law or a related discipline are essential.
Applicants will be required to provide evidence of their eligibility to work in Australia, and at a minimum be required to undertake police and basic credit checks as a condition of employment.
Please note that applications from agencies will not be considered at this time.
