Due to an internal promotion, MatchWorks is looking for a passionate Mental Health Employment Coach (Individual Placement & Support Consultant) to help people living with mental health challenges achieve their employment goals.
You'll work within a community mental health clinic alongside clinicians and health professionals, delivering employment support that forms part of each participant's recovery journey as part of our Individual Placement & Support (IPS) program.
Unlike traditional employment services roles, you'll manage a smaller, more intensive caseload and provide end-to-end support, from job search through to ongoing employment. Working alongside clinicians and health professionals, you'll build meaningful relationships and see the direct impact your work has on participants' wellbeing, recovery and long-term success.
Whether you're experienced in employment services or looking to build a career in mental health, this is a unique opportunity to combine your people skills, employment expertise and passion for helping others in a role that genuinely changes lives.
We're open to part-time (0.8 FTE), because great people thrive in different ways.
What you'll do
As an Mental Health Employment Coach in our team, you'll:
Work alongside clinicians and mental health professionals to support participants on their journey toward meaningful employment.
Build trusted relationships with participants, helping them identify goals, overcome barriers and celebrate success along the way.
Provide personalised employment support, from job search and employer engagement through to workplace support once employment is secured.
Contribute to recovery-focused planning as part of a multidisciplinary team within a community mental health clinic.
Connect with employers, community services and support networks to create opportunities and positive outcomes for participants.
What you'll bring
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of people.
A genuine interest in mental health and helping people achieve meaningful employment outcomes.
The ability to work independently while building strong partnerships with clinicians, participants and community stakeholders.
Empathy, resilience and a person-centred, strengths-based approach to supporting others.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and documentation requirements.
Bonus points for
Experience in employment services, disability employment, employer engagement, mental health or community services.
Experience supporting people experiencing mental health challenges or working alongside clinical teams.
Ongoing or completed studies in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or a related field.
(You'll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate - but don't worry, we'll help guide you through this.)
