The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with thermoplastic piping systems, understands fusion joining processes, and takes pride in producing high-quality, code-compliant work.
Key Responsibilities

Fit, align, and fabricate thermoplastic pipe spools using infrared, butt, and socket fusion welding equipment.
Measure, mark, and cut pipe and fittings to the required dimensions and tolerances.
Inspect completed joints and spools for quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with applicable specifications.
Maintain accurate documentation, including bonder qualification records, traveler notations, and fusion logs.
Operate and maintain fusion equipment, ensuring proper calibration and safe operation.
Collaborate with fabrication engineers, shop management, and quality personnel to resolve fit-up issues or drawing discrepancies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards.
Support continuous improvement efforts related to fabrication quality, throughput, and process consistency.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience fitting and fabricating pipe, preferably in thermoplastic materials (PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF, HDPE).
Hands-on experience with infrared, butt, and socket fusion welding equipment.
Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, spool drawings, and piping specifications.
Working knowledge of pipe fitting tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality, code-compliant work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced fabrication shop environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with fusion data logging systems (e.g., GF CONNECT, McElroy DataLogger).
Exposure to ASME B31.3 process piping requirements or other code-driven fabrication environments.
Experience fabricating for water/wastewater, semiconductor/high-purity, or chemical processing end markets.
Prior experience in a formal quality system environment (ISO 9001 or similar).
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, and fumes typical of a fabrication facility.
